Manuela Barreto, President, draws your attention to some of the events and novelty that will happen in Granada
Dear EASP members
Our General Meeting is fast approaching and we would like to draw your attention to a few key things that will happen in Granada.
First, as always, the General Meeting will include a Members' Meeting to which all members are invited. This will take place on Friday 7th Jul, from 16.45 to 18.30, at the Manuel Falla room. The EC will report on activities, as well as propose changes to our articles and standing orders, on which Full Members are invited to vote. Please come prepared by reading the materials recently emailed to you on the changes proposed.
Second, and for the first time, the meeting will have three keynotes: The traditional Tajfel lecture, associated with the Tajfel award and delivered by this years' winner, Klaus Fiedler; the Moscovici lecture, associated with the new Moscovici Award, delivered by Andrea Abele-Brehm (co-winner with Bogdan Wojciszke); and the Horizon lecture, delivered by Richard Wilkinson. These keynotes will be delivered on per day from Wedesday to Friday.
Third, the meeting will include several special sessions. I would like to draw your attention to two of these in particular. The first takes place on Wednesday the 5th from 18.20-19.30, Manuel Falla room, and involves reporting on an analysis of diversity within EASP. The second takes place on Thursday the 6th, at the same time and in the same room, and focuses on the situation of Social Psychologists working in politically challening situations and how they can best be supported. Please stay tuned on these sessions--more information will be provided soon.
The conference will end with a party, to celebrate the 50 years of EASP. There will be food, drink, some short speeches (I was promissed!) and a lot of dancing. This is free for members, but you do have to let the organizers know if you plan to attend--there is still space, so you can still sign up, even if you have registered already.
I hope you are looking forward to this as much as we are.
on behalf of the EC
