Call for proposals
free preregistered study project
Social psychology is embracing novel ways to do research and is positioned to become one of the cutting-edge disciplines in terms of changing the standards of research practice. Yet we still face interesting challenges regarding what good research in the future will look like. One of these new formats is peer-review pre-registration, where authors benefit from reviews of their proposal prior to data collection, but such strategies still face challenges such as sample size planning and attaining the necessary samples. To address these challenges, new forms of support are necessary.
The Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID; www.leibniz-psychology.org) in Trier, Germany, is an internationally renowned research support organization in psychology and a member of the prestigious Leibniz Association. Current as well as future ZPID research areas and services are based on and guided by the values of open science. ZPID has partnered with CRSP to offer a unique research opportunity supporting social psychologists in this endeavor.
In a nutshell: Comprehensive Results in Social Psychology and ZPID are seeking innovative ideas and in return are offering free data collection and publication, all within a peer-reviewed pre-registration format.
In more detail: Researchers get support for the empirical part of their research in the form of a fully sponsored and executed online study (or smaller studies run in parallel). This support is embedded in the peer-reviewed pre-registration process of CRSP and also into the support mechanisms of ZPID to collect and archive research data. Researchers propose a (set) of study(s), and if the proposal passes peer-review of CRSP with an In-Principle-Acceptance (IPA), ZPID will collect the data for the researchers, who subsequently receive a data set ready for analysis. ZPID also provides a repository for data archiving and documentation.
We seek to offer this opportunity to three (3) proposals, selected based on their innovation, scientific merits, and feasibility to be implemented using ZPID´s online lab infrastructure.
Please submit the proposals at https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/crsp, refering to “ZPID proposal”, with a deadline of 31.12.2017.
