The EASP Medium Group Meeting on Moral judgment and behavior took place from the 25th to the 28th of June 2015 in Sopot (Poland). Participants were welcomed at the informal Welcome dinner on the 25th, at the “Pomarańczowa Plaża” restaurant. We had 39 participants from 25 universities among which 31 were current members of the EASP.

The scientific programme started on Friday the 26th at 9.00 a.m. with the Session A (Morality and judgment) where six speakers presented their studies (list below). The session was chaired by Silvia Moscatelli.

After a lunch break we had a one-hour keynote talk provided by Bertram Gawronski, who talked about A Multinomial Process Model of Moral Judgment. Just after the lecture the first Data Blitz session started with six speakers. This session was chaired by Joris Lammers.

The first intensive day finished with a social outing – the visit to European Centre of Solidarity and Gdansk sightseeing.

After a lunch break we had a second one-hour keynote talk provided by Roger Giner-Sorolla (co-authored with Darren McGee & John Sabo), who talked about Moral Disgust, Shame, Reputation, and Character. Just after the lecture the second Data Blitz session started with seven speakers. This session was chaired by Andrea Abele-Brehm.

On the third (and last) day, we started with Session C – Morality and perception, chaired by Richard Smith. This session included four speakers (list below).

The session was followed by Closing discussion titled: What kind of theory we need to explain both moral judgment and behavior? The convener of the discussion – Bogdan Wojciszke – invited six guests to participate: Susan Fiske, Bertram Gawronski, Roger Giner-Sorolla, Shaul Shalvi, Mirek Kofta and Piotr Winkielman. It was fruitful and vivid discussion which gave an opportunity to summarize and integrate the various strands of research presented during the meeting. Besides that, the meeting let participants to exchange their ideas, which hopefully will end up with new research collaborations.
