The University of Duisburg-Essen (Campus Essen), School of Educational Sciences, Institute of Psychology, Group of Intercultural Psychology – Migration and Integration offers a Post-doc position (f/m) with a salary equivalent to TV-L 13, full-time employment.

Your responsibilities:

  • Doing research in the core research fields of the group – development of intergroup relations, acculturative and educational processes in the context of ethnic diversity, and political socialization
  • Writing up publications for international peer-reviewed journals and acquiring third-party funding
  • Teaching (in German or English) in Intercultural Psychology (4 hours per week during semester time) in Educational Sciences and in Psychology (BSc and MSc)
  • Supervision of theses
  • Assisting in administrative work
  • You will be given the opportunity to develop your scientific career further as part of the job

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree, preferably in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g., Sociology or Social Studies)
  • PhD
  • Research experience in at least one of the above mentioned research fields (preferably proven through publications)
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing complex data (multi-level, longitudinal, and/or network data)
  • Competent mastery of specialized statistical software packages (e.g., Mplus or R)

Start of position: October 1, 2018
Contract period: 36 months (with chance for renewal)
Working time: 100 % percent of a fulltime position
