We invite submissions to the 10th Warsaw Seminar in Intergroup Relations (formerly known as the Tajfel Seminar) that will take place July 2-3rd, 2022. This year, the conference centers on broadly defined political ideology – its causes, shades, and consequences.

Next to the rise of illiberal regimes, the recent decade witnessed an increase in political polarization all over the world. Equipped with their theories and ever-developing methodology, social psychologists started exploring this phenomenon. Why are the ideological divides growing? What are their consequences? Is it possible to build bridges between the conflicted political tribes? If so, what works? What methods are ineffective? Did the unpredicted events such as the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic or Russia’s invasion of Ukraine change anything?

The aim of the 10th Warsaw Seminar in Intergroup Relations is to address these and many other questions as well as connect scholars interested in political ideology and political divides. Next to the talks delivered by the keynote speakers - Prof. Dr. Nicole Tausch (University of St Andrews) and Prof. Dr. Theofilos Gkinopoulos (University of Crete) – the conference will involve regular paper sessions (20-minute talks) and a poster session. We encourage contributions from junior and senior scholars working in different subfields of social psychology and related disciplines.

Researchers interested in participating are invited to submit abstracts (max. 250 words) by May 15th or register by June 15th via https://sites.google.com/psych.uw.edu.pl/wsir. Participation in the conference is free of charge. The event is organized by the Center for Research on Prejudice at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw.
