BPS Social Psychology Section Conference (Oxford 8-10 September)
08.04.2025, by Media Account
Submission deadline: 23 April 2025
The British Psychological Society (BPS) Social Psychology Section Annual Conference is set to take place from September 8 to 10, 2025, at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford.
The central theme for this year's conference is Beyond Tribalism in Social Psychology: Bringing Together Diverse Research Traditions. We aim to facilitate dialogue between what might be viewed as sometimes competing perspectives—whether quantitative vs. qualitative, experimental vs. critical, or positivist vs. interpretivist—to understand how these different approaches could be considered in tandem to advance a holistic understanding of human behaviour in social contexts. We also aim to build opportunities for shared learning and collaborations across research traditions, geographical regions and career stages.
We invite papers spanning the full breadth of social psychology, theoretically and methodologically, including basic, applied and co-produced approaches to explore social psychological phenomena.
We encourage submissions that adopt open research practices and those that promote global and diverse perspectives. We especially encourage symposia submissions that bring together presenters from different career stages, backgrounds and research traditions and that foreground the work of those earlier in their careers.
The deadline for abstract submissions is the 23rd April 2025. For full information on the conference and how to submit, please visit: https://www.bps.org.uk/event/social-psychology-annual-conference-2025
We look forward to seeing you there.
