Call for 2026 EASP Preconference Proposal Submissions
23.05.2025, by Media Account
Deadline: 14 September, 2025
Dear colleagues,
As you know, the next EASP General Meeting will take place from July 1 to 4, 2026, in Strasbourg, France, and we are looking forward to seeing you there! As part of this event, EASP Preconferences will be held on June 30, 2026.
What is a preconference?
A preconference is a one-day event focusing on a specific theme within social psychology or addressing methodological and epistemological issues relevant to the field.
The format is flexible: organizers may invite speakers directly or launch an open and selective call. Sessions may include talks, blitz presentations, workshops, or any combination thereof.
For reference, you can see the themes from the previous General Meeting here:

How to submit a preconference proposal
If you would like to organize a preconference, please submit your proposal to:
easppreconferences@gmail.com
Deadline: 14 September 2025, at noon (CEST)
Your submission must follow the attached form: click here.
Selection criteria and process
Preconferences will be selected based on:
• Scientific quality of the proposal
• Anticipated interest within the EASP community
• Potential overlap with other submissions
• Contribution to EASP’s goals on diversity and inclusion (e.g., representation across research groups and institutions, cultural diversity, early-career involvement)
The selection will be made by the EASP Preconference Team in consultation with the EASP Executive Committee.
Each selected preconference will be assigned a maximum number of participants based on space availability.
Notification of acceptance
You will be informed of the selection outcome by 15 October 2025.
What happens if your preconference is selected?
If your proposal is accepted, you will act as chairs of the preconference. This involves:
1. (If applicable) Preparing and sending a call for talks/blitzs by 30 October 2025, to be shared through GM and EASP communication channels. Abstracts should be submitted directly to the preconference chairs.
2. (If applicable) Reviewing submitted abstracts and notifying selected presenters by early February 2026.
3. Sending the final list of speakers to the EASP Preconference Team by 28 February 2026.
How is registration managed?
All preconference participants—including chairs and speakers—will need to register via the GM registration portal.
A registration fee of €60 will apply to cover organizational costs (room rental, lunch, and coffee breaks).
Preconferences will be open to the entire EASP community.
Priority registration will be given to speakers, as communicated by the chairs to the Preconference Team.
Any remaining slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
If chairs have additional funding, they may independently choose to reimburse participants’ preconference fees (separate from the GM organization).
