We are seeking additional collaborators to join a large-scaled replication effort of cognitive dissonance. The cognitive dissonance literature consists of several major paradigms. Our aim is to replicate one of these popular paradigms: the effect of induced compliance on attitude change after writing a counterattitudinal essay.

Currently, we seek collaborators for two data-collection projects. These could be combined or separate contributions.

1. For the preparation of the replication project, we are pretesting student opinions about a range of topics. Your contribution could be to collect data (which would require a modest time investment) and/or to get more involved in the general procedure (e.g., topic selection). This project is important for setting up the cognitive dissonance replication project, but is also considered a separate project resulting in its own publication so that interested researchers can benefit from the data. 2. For the large-scaled replication of cognitive dissonance, we are finishing a draft to submit as an RRR to Advances in Methods and Practices in Psychological Science. Several labs and collaborators have already committed to the project, but we are still welcoming people to contribute.
