Call for papers special journal issue

05.01.2026, by Media Account

Deadline: 31 July, 2026

Dear members,

It is my pleasure to share several new initiatives at the journal Social Influence that may be of interest to you.

First, we have launched a new article format called Registered Proof of Concept (R-PoC). R-PoC is designed to empower scholars to ask ambitious questions, explore innovative methodological approaches, and build early collaborative networks. As with a Registered Report, authors submit their proposal before collecting data, and reviewers provide feedback and an in-principle acceptance decision. Once accepted, authors conduct the study, and the paper is published regardless of the results.

The key difference from a traditional Registered Report is that R-PoC does not require a fully powered hypothesis test. Instead, it focuses on demonstrating methodological feasibility and generating momentum toward larger-scale, multi-site studies that can later test hypotheses more definitively. We also anticipate that R-PoC submissions may serve as useful proof-of-concept materials for scholars developing broader research programs or preparing grant proposals.

In addition, we are seeking contributions to two thematic collections:
- The Psychology of Influence and Power
- Social Media and Social Change
