Call for unpublished studies: Social identity and cognitive health (scoping review)

29.01.2026, by Media Account

Scoping review looking for studies exploring relationship between social identity and cognitive health. Please submit by 17 February 2026 or contact us to discuss further.

Dear EASP colleagues,

We are conducting a scoping review of the relationships explored between social identity and cognitive health (please see https://osf.io/wb6qd/overview for more info).

We are seeking published, unpublished, or nearly published qualitative/quantitative studies that meet the following criteria:
1. Involved middle-aged or older adults, either as the main participants or as a subset of participants where analyses specific to this subset group are available (note: if the ages of participants are unknown but the study involves primarily adults living with dementia, the study will be included if the remaining criteria are also met).
AND
2. Examined cognitive health, for example as:
-health status (i.e., study recruited people living with dementia or cognitive impairment related to dementia - e.g., mild cognitive impairment, suspected cases of dementia. Non-dementia-specific cognitive impairments such as stroke and acquired brain injury are beyond the scope of this review), OR
-relevant cognitive variable (e.g., measured cognitive health as an independent/dependent variable; explored experiences/beliefs around cognitive decline)
AND
3. Used the social identity approach in the design of the study: i.e.,
-In developing the research question, OR
-In the choice of study variables (e.g., a social identity process was measured/manipulated), OR
-In the interpretation/analysis approach.

If you have any published or unpublished studies that fit these criteria, we would love to hear from you. You can provide all the info via this Google Form: https://forms.gle/wvtVxMsQLqfKfNnN7 or email the lead researcher Ping directly (kaiping.tan@anu.edu.au).

We would appreciate receiving any information by 17 February 2026 to be considered for the review.

We look forward to hearing from you

Kind regards,
Kai Ping Tan and Prof Tegan Cruwys
