Dear colleagues,

The Society for the Science of Motivation (SSM) annually confers a Distinguished Contribution to Motivation Science Award to a senior scientist who has made a major theoretical and/or empirical contribution to motivation science.

The winner will be recognized at the society’s annual meeting (this year: May 22, 2025, Washington, DC) as well as in the society’s empirical journals: Motivation and Emotion and Motivation Science.

Submission Criteria:
Nominations must be made by one individual (group nominations will not be considered).
The nominee must be a current member of the SSM.

The nomination must include:
a) A bullet-pointed list of accomplishments by the nominee. Each bullet point should be no more than two sentences in length, with a maximum of five bullet points.
b) The nominee’s CV.

How to Submit:
Please send nominations to the chair of the SSM Distinguished Contribution to Motivation Science Award committee via an email containing all information in one PDF document (list of accomplishments followed by CV). The chair is Veronika Brandstätter: v.brandstaetter@psychologie.uzh.ch.

Nominations for the 2025 award will be accepted until March 14, 2025.
