Changes in the Author Guidelines for EJSP

21.01.2019, by Tina Keil in announcement

Effective from February 1st, 2019

The following changes to the EJSP's author guidelines will be effective from February 1st, 2019.

The main changes are:

(1) Together with our editorial team, we have decided to remove the "Short Paper" format. The key reason for this is that we observed that "Short Papers" often had a substantially lower quality as compared to the "Research Article" format. Given that the only formal difference between the two was the word limit, we decided the former category. We have therefore now revised the author guidelines for the "Research Article" such that this category allows for shorter articles, but also that it is crystal-clear that the same quality criteria apply to shorter and longer research articles. That is, typically EJSP articles report multi-study investigations into a social psychological phenomenon that make a relevant contribution to social psychological theory.

(2) In addition to the "Research Article" format, we introduce a second type of submission category, which is the "Theory Article" format. We started a special procedure for submitting proposals for such articles a year ago, and given the many submissions we received, we have now created this formal category while also keeping the special procedure. The guidelines and criteria for this type of submission can be found on the journal website. Note that the only change in this procedure is that we are now asking for 6-page proposals (rather than 3-pagers).

We hope to see even more proposals submitted than in 2018!
