Deadline for nominations, suggestions and applications: 01 December 2025
Dear Colleagues,
It is a tradition of the EASP to honour members who make an outstanding contribution to the discipline. The EASP Executive Committee are pleased to invite nominations for these awards, which will be presented at the General Meeting in Strasbourg. All awardees will receive a certificate.
More information about the specific awards can be found here (https://www.easp.eu/about/awards/) and is summarised below.
• Three Early-Career Awards recognise early career research contributions to social psychology. Candidates should have been awarded their PhD no earlier than 01 October 2021 and no later than 30 September 2024. For candidates who have taken leave in that period (e.g., parental/carer leave), this period can be extended by one year so that the PhD should be awarded no earlier than 01 October 2020. Candidates should be full EASP members in good standing at the time of application. The selection panel will take into consideration the year in which applicants were awarded their PhD so that there are equal chances to receive the award depending on PhD award date. Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by two (and only two) full members of the EASP. In each case, candidates should submit their CVs and two letters of support. Nominators must have—and indicate on their letter of support that they have—the candidate’s permission to nominate them for the award. Awardees will be selected by a panel including one member of the Executive Committee and three full members of the EASP.
• Three Mid-Career Awards recognise significant mid-career contributions to social psychology. Awards are made to candidates who have made a substantial contribution through excellence in individual scholarship and through support for the scholarship of others. Nominees will typically have completed their PhD more than 10 and less than 25 years ago at the time of application. Candidates should be full EASP members in good standing at the time of application.
• The Outstanding Service to the Field of Social Psychology Award recognises outstanding service to the EASP or social psychology in Europe more broadly. There is no open call for this award, but suggestions from EASP members are welcome at this time. Suggestions should include a brief justification. Suggestions of groups are also welcome. The awardee(s) will be selected by the Executive Committee.
• The Theory-Innovation Award recognises the author or authors of one article, book, or book chapter that has made an outstanding theoretical contribution to social psychology. The award honours a single contribution and therefore can be awarded at all career stages. The lead author must be a full EASP member in good standing. Suggestions should include a letter indicating why the publication is deserving of this award and should include a PDF of the publication. The awardee will be selected by the Executive Committee.
