New EASP Students Under Threat Fund - Call for Applications
EASP Students Under Threat Fund
Call for Applications
Following the decision approved by vote at the Members’ Meeting during the Strasburg General Meeting, the EASP has decided to broaden the scope of the existing Scholar Under Threat Fund. We are therefore pleased to announce the establishment of the Students Under Threat Fund, a new initiative designed to support students pursuing studies in social psychology, broadly defined, whose education and academic development are affected by circumstances that place them at risk or threaten their ability to continue their studies.
The Fund provides financial support of up to €2,000.
Support may, for example, be relevant to students experiencing situations related to armed conflict, political persecution, displacement, or other circumstances that significantly interfere with their ability to pursue their studies.
Priority is given to time-critical and safety-related requests, including those from students in Palestine, as well as Palestinian students residing outside their home country who are dependent on support from funding in Palestine but are currently unable to access such support.
The Fund reflects EASP’s commitment to supporting the next generation of social psychologists and to promoting an inclusive, international, and diverse academic community.
Who can apply?
The Fund is open to students regardless of EASP membership status who are pursuing studies in social psychology, broadly defined. Applications are also welcome from students in closely related disciplines where social psychological theories, methods, or research questions form a core part of their work.
The Fund is open to students at:
• Undergraduate level
• Master’s level
Applicants may be studying at universities or research institutions.
How to apply
Applications can be submitted four times per year, with deadlines on: 15 February, 15 May, 15 August, and 15 November. If your situation is urgent, you may contact us at any time outside these deadlines.
Applicants should provide:
1. Proof of academic enrolment, together with a brief description of the background and current studies, including evidence of their engagement with social psychology.
2. A description of the circumstances affecting their ability to continue their studies;
3. A description of how the requested financial support would help them continue their studies, including a detailed budget of how the funds would be allocated.
4. A short letter of support or confirmation from a supervisor, programme director, or other appropriate academic contact, where possible.
Applications should be submitted to office@easp.eu and claudia.manzi@unicatt.it
Applications will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and reviewed by the EASP Executive Committee.
Selection criteria
Applications will be assessed by EASP on the basis of:
• the applicant’s academic engagement in social psychology or a closely related field;
• the circumstances affecting the applicant’s studies and the extent to which these circumstances threaten or disrupt their ability to continue their education;
• the potential impact of the requested support on the applicant’s ability to pursue their studies.
