Our social lives are increasingly unfolding in the digital world, as evidenced by the British Online Safety Act (2023). However, the digital world requires new research approaches and analytical methods that extend beyond traditional social psychological training. The main aims of our meeting are to:
1.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the barriers and opportunities for gender equality in the digital era.
2.
Exchange knowledge on the best research methods for investigating gender equality in the digital world.
3.
Stimulate interdisciplinary collaborations (e.g., with experts in communication, information technology, and policymaking).
Confirmed Keynote Speakers include:
-
Prof Janine Bosak, Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland
-
Dr. Tessa Charlesworth, Northwestern University. Evanston, Illinois, USA
-
Prof Klaus Boehnke, Constructor University Bremen, Germany
We invite gender equality projects that leverage or have an interest in leveraging digital technology (e.g., machine learning or BIG data) or explore the digital space (e.g., content analyses, field experiments on social media, lab experiments simulating the digital world) within one of three key themes: digital media, the workplace, and cross-cultural trends.
PhD students are especially encouraged to apply.
