Jana Papcunova
I graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Prešov University in Slovakia in
2004, receiving a master’s degree in Psychology. After University I
worked abroad in different fields of applied psychology. Since
September 2019, I am based at The Institute of Social Sciences of the
CSPS of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Košice, undertaking my
postgraduate studies. Living only an hour away from the Ukraine border
with the current escalating crisis, as Social Psychology Ambassador, I
aim to build regional networks with other researchers from Visegrad
countries and promote social psychological research in a range of
topics including attitudes, prejudice, hate speech, and
opportunities/challenges of an inclusive public sphere.
Marija Branković
I received my Ph.D. from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, and I work as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Media and Communications. My research interests are related to social identities and inter-group relations in post-conflict settings. In the shadow of war, as a Social Psychology Ambassador, I aim to bring together researchers from ten countries of South and East Europe (Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Latvia). The network will aim to cast more light on the reasons behind the underrepresentation of the region in European social psychology while establishing closer collaboration in research on relevant topics, in particular the innovative field of human-animal relations.
