Invitation for research participation and collaboration

07.09.2022, by Hannah Schäfer

Sign-up Deadline: September 30th, 2022

Dear colleagues,
I would like to invite collaborators to participate in a cross-cultural, cross-sectional study included in a project funded by the European Research Council: A Multi-Theory, Multi-Method Approach for Preventing and Reducing Radicalization Leading to Violence (MULTIPREV).

Research Project and Collaboration
The goal of MULTIPREV is to deepen into the mechanisms related to violent radicalization, deradicalization, and disengagement using an approach based on the combination of different theories and research methods.

We require your collaboration to collect data with participants from different countries of Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania/Australia. Participants will have to respond to an online questionnaire in a single session. The questionnaire will take around 30 minutes.

Steps and Tasks Involved
The collaboration will comprise the following steps and tasks:

  1. - We will send an English version of the questionnaire to the collaborator of each country.
  2. - Each collaborator will make the translation to the native language of the participants. If we have more than one lab collaborating in the same country or in the same language, we will coordinate the translation together with all the labs involved.
  3. - Each collaborator will ask the Ethics Research Committee of their institution to evaluate and approve the research. If their institution does not have an Ethics Research Committee, they will appoint an Ethics Advisory Board composed by external researchers with adequate ethical training to that end.
  4. - Each collaborator will be in charge of the data collection in their country. It is expected that the data will be collected online, but we are open to other strategies like paper and pencil questionnaires.

You will be added as co-author in the manuscripts including data from the cross-sectional study.

Data can be collected from March 2023 to October 2023. If you want to sign up for collaboration, you must fill in the collaboration form before September 30 here:

If you have any question or doubt about the studies, our want additional information, do not hesitate to contact us by writing to our Administrative Assistant, Sarah Anderhub (, or the Research Coordinator Appointed for this task, Juana Chinchilla (
Feel free to forward this information to other colleagues who might be interested in collaborating.
