Join us November 18 (12:30–2:00 PM ET) for TLC’s virtual symposium on Empathy as an Interpersonal Process, with cutting-edge talks, an interactive Q&A, and moderated discussion.

Join The Love Consortium (TLC) for Empathy as an Interpersonal Process, a virtual symposium with discussion moderated by Patty Van Cappellen and Kunalan Manokara, on November 18 from 12:30–2:00 PM ET.

This event is part of a broader project on empathy’s role in promoting positive interpersonal and intergroup relationships, funded by the Templeton Religion Trust.

We’re excited to feature talks by:
- Gregory Depow, University of California, San Diego, “Receiving empathy and perceived partner responsiveness”
- María Monroy, Yale University, “Affective correlates of empathy”
- Judith Kotiuga, University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières, “Empathic accuracy in couples”

Talks will be followed by an interactive Q&A and moderated discussion. We welcome researchers at all career stages — from graduate students and postdocs to seasoned PI’s — who study empathy, dyadic processes, and/or intergroup relations to join us for this engaging event.

PS: Do you have research on empathy you’d like to share with our community? We’re planning another event on the topic to coincide with the 2026 APS Annual Convention in Barcelona, Spain. Submissions for the broader conference are due December 5 and we’ll share more about our event in the coming months. We hope to see you in Barcelona!
