Webinar

The International Society for Political Psychology (ISPP) has a longstanding commitment to protecting scholars who are under threat due to their research or political views, among other types of threats academics face in different contexts. To support these scholars, ISPP has developed a number of initiatives and resources, including a dedicated committee on Scholars Under Threat (SUT), which seeks to identify and assist scholars who are facing persecution, harassment, or censorship.
This webinar brings together several members of ISPP and the Scholars Under Threat committee, who will discuss the idea behind establishing this committee and the existing initiatives. First, we will hear from the current and former president of ISPP and SUT committee who will talk about the importance of assisting scholars at risk. They will also explain the aims of the Twinning program which was designed to facilitate scholarly collaboration between threatened scholars (e.g., political scientists and psychologists) and the program partners. These collaborations can offer the opportunity for threatened scholars to continue their academic activities, maintain and advance their careers, and integrate into international academic networks. We are excited to share that two former members of the Twinning Program will also talk about their experiences within this program. Finally, we will also present tips on how to provide remote affiliation.
