We offer:
- a position (0.8 – 1.0 FTE) for 1 year, after a positive evaluation, this can be turned into a permanent position;
- a full-time gross salary between €4,332 and €6,737

We are looking for a new colleague to expand our academic staff in the Department of Interdisciplinary Social Science externe link (ISW) of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The department’s research activities are organised in three programmes: ‘Social Policy and Public Health’, ‘Migration, Cultural Diversity, and Ethnic Relations’ and ‘Youth in Changing Cultural Contexts’.

The teaching related to the appointment will focus on the programme ‘Youth in Changing Cultural Contexts’ where inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration is sought. Your research will be linked to this programme. ‘Youth in Changing Cultural Contexts’ aims to identify opportunities for young people to thrive and grow within diverse contexts, including that of the family, peers, school and society. Our young, enthusiastic, interdisciplinary team seeks to understand the interplay between these contexts and individual characteristics and their effects on adolescent and young adult (risk) behaviours, social media use, mental health and social relations. Our research combines large, (longitudinal) quantitative (internationally-comparative) surveys, qualitative interviews, and experimental studies.

The position contains a standard combination of teaching activities (60%) and research activities (40%), preferably starting no later than February 2024. In case you wish to focus your career on teaching, a 70% teaching and 30% research appointment is also possible, temporary or structural.
