CRESP Special Issue on Dignity, Honor, and Face Cultural Logics

01.05.2024, by Media Account

Abstract deadline: 01 June 2024

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a special issue of the journal Current Research in Ecological and Social Psychology devoted to the topic of dignity, face, and honor cultural logics. The distinction between cultural logics of dignity, face, and honor (DFH) is relatively new, but it is increasingly used to understand cultural differences in a variety of psychological processes spanning intrapersonal, interpersonal, and intergroup domains

This special issue aims to bring together research on

(1) the conceptualization, measurement, and prevalence of DFH logics across cultures,

(2) country-, regional- and individual-level correlates and behavioral consequences of these cultural logics across intrapersonal, interpersonal, and intergroup domains, and

(3) critical and integrative reviews of the literature on DHF logics.

We ask authors to submit an abstract (1,000 words or less) by June 1, 2024 to s.jabeen@elsevier.com with the words “DFH Cultural Logics Special Issue” in the subject line. From these abstracts, the guest editors will make selections and request that authors of selected abstracts submit the complete manuscript for external review by 1 November 2024. All requested submissions will be sent for peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

More details can be found in the attached document. Feel free to send questions to scross@iastate.edu.

Best,

Guest Editors
