The Department of Experimental Psychology at UCL wishes to appoint a Lecturer. The post is available for 3 years at a Grade 8 level (Salary range £48,614 - £57,041).

The successful candidate would contribute to education in psychology while developing an independent research programme. The Department is particularly keen to encourage applications from candidates whose teaching and research could incorporate evolutionary approaches to understanding social cognition and behaviour, including the evolution of cooperation and related subfields, such as reciprocity, reputation management, morality, punishment, large-scale social dynamics, social learning, as well as other aspects of social cognition, such as perception of others and groups. We particularly encourage applications from candidates whose expertise can bridge domains, by for example combining theory with comparative or computational approaches, or real-world data with experimentation.

The post holder should be able to start at the beginning of the next academic year, in September 2023. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the delivery of an excellent education led by the domains of research described above, particularly at Masters level. They will therefore have some experience, relative to opportunity, in delivering appropriate teaching to a high quality. While the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering education, we will support and encourage the applicant to develop their independent research career alongside these responsibilities. They will therefore have a track record of published academic work of the highest quality.
