University of Greifswald’s Institute of Psychology has a job opening for a full-time post-doctoral fellow. The vacancy is located at the chair of Emotion and Motivation (Prof. Jan Crusius) and is initially limited for three years with an opportunity for extension for up to three years.

The research of the group is focused on social emotions, social comparison, motivational processes, and decision making via experimental and correlational approaches. The chair is equipped with a versatile behavior lab enabling investigations into social cognitive and emotional processes with innovative methods (e.g., eye tracking, virtual reality).

The position involves tasks predominantly in research and teaching (4 contact hours of teaching per week in teaching periods). The main tasks include contributing to the joint research of the group and the writing of grant proposals and academic publications. The teaching tasks include seminars for psychology students, particularly in the fields of emotion, motivation, and social psychology. Greifswald is located at the beautiful Baltic coast in northern Germany, with major cities such as Hamburg and Berlin not too far away. Knowledge of German is not a requirement.
