The Department of Experimental Psychology at UCL is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to investigate how social media contributes to social and cultural transformation. The position starts in January 2024 and is available until September 2025 in the first instance. The post-holder will design experiments and quasi-experiments focusing on social media, including self-selection, spreading misinformation, social influence and identity formation (e.g., echo chambers, polarization), and how this might be modulated by individual differences in social needs and motivation. The post holder will program, collect data, analyse data and write the findings, in
consultation with Professor Ana Guinote.
