Tenure-track position in Psychology (Social and other areas), Bogazici University (Istanbul)

Boğaziçi University Department of Psychology invites applications for junior faculty positions. Applications from English--speaking foreign (non-Turkish) faculty are encouraged. Applicants with a specialization in Clinical (only Turkish applicants are eligible for this area), Social, Developmental, Cognitive Neuroscience and/or Quantitative Psychology will be considered. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of academic excellence as well as the match between the applicant's areas of expertise and our department's immediate needs.

Boğaziçi University is a highly competitive public university in Istanbul, Turkey. It admits students ranked in the top 1000 of over 2 million applicants entering a nation-wide university entrance exam. The Psychology Department is committed to academic excellence. The department offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees (M.A. & PhD) in Psychological Sciences and Clinical Psychology. The department supports collaborative research across several labs and research groups. Currently, the department has seven active research laboratories (Behavioral Neuroscience, Psychoepigenetics, Cognitive, Developmental, Baby and Child Development, Social, and Vision) and a center for psychological services, serving the Istanbul community.

The successful candidate must either be a recent Ph.D. recipient or should receive his/her degree in 2019 or 2020. S/he must have demonstrated potential for academic excellence in both teaching and research productivity. The curriculum is in English (i.e., ability to speak Turkish is not required) and the typical teaching load is 2 courses per term. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong research program, and supervise both Master’s and Ph.D. level research. Specialization in statistics, mathematical psychology, and related areas, and desire to teach statistics, research methods, and experimental psychology courses with lab sections is a strong asset.

For foreign candidates, the position is for 12 months with a possibility of renewal upon positive review. For Turkish candidates, the position is tenure-track with 3-year contracts. The university provides on-campus housing upon availability.
