Interdisciplinary symposium on the socio-cognitive determinants of critical thinking – Call for submissions
19.12.2022, by Media Account in call for papers
Brussels, Belgium
Deadline: January 31st, 2023
Call for abstracts
What is epistemic truth? How do you know that what you know is true? How to fight information disorders such as fake news or conspiracy theories? Are strong educational background, high literacy level, good sourcing abilities or reasoning skills protecting us from being gullible? What are the links between emotions, knowledge, partisanship and truthfulness? Are there specific types of interventions that could improve critical thinking and decrease credulity?
In this one-day interdisciplinary symposium planned on June 12, 2023, at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium, we aim to bring together specialists from social sciences and humanities concerned with these questions.
If you are working in these areas and are interested in presenting your research, please submit an abstract for a 10-15 minute talk following this link.
Deadline for abstract submission is January 31st, 2023
